Its a good question. We could really sit here all day and talk about the benefits each one has. Cardio leaning you out, improving your lungs and stamina, weight training building muscle. There is a much better question everyone should be asking.
Why not both? Its really like asking “should i work out my right arm or my left?” That would be rather silly. Could you imagine someone with one huge right bicep and a little dinky left one? What about someone who could bench a lot, but gets winded easy? Or someone who can run a long way, but can hardly lift anything?
If you want to get fit you should make it your goal to work every aspect. Honestly you need to work the thing in between your ears as well, and the thing that goes beat beat beat in your chest. But that is another blog all together.
Total body health is what you need to be focused on, improving every aspect and getting the to meld together!
That is why i love P90X so much
It has Resistance training
- Chest and Back
- Arms & Shoulders
- Back & Biceps
- Legs & Back
- Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps
- Ab Ripper X
Cardio
- Cardio X
- Kenpo X
- Plyometrics

And in Addition to that there is
- Yoga X
Yoga X works on Stamina, Balance, Coordination, Breath Work, & Strength
Is it possible to get all of these work outs somewhere else? Well yes of course. You can go to a gym and have someone develop several programs for you, and take several cardio classes and a yoga class. By then end it is going to be far more expensive. P90X has done a lot for me and that is why i’m sold on it.
