So I’ve got quite a few hours in the day where I just sit there and think about things, and one of the things I enjoy thinking about is theology and what not. The whole exercise thing kinda threw me off for a minute because, well, there isnt a plain as day blueprint for cardio and weight training in the Bible.
But here’s the thing. We were created with a mind, body, and soul. I dont think that we can just rule one or two of those out. The obvious miss use of our bodies leads to disease, early decay, among a list of other things.
If we are overweight and lathargic, or disease ridden, doesnt it keep us from doing the work of the kingdom? Is it appropriate to sit and read and atrophy? Certainly one wouldnt say it is ok to just focus on the body and forget the soul.
I know an awesome woman by the name of Anne Jacobs. She has a ministry in which she brings all 3 in to focus. I think it’s really awesome. I wish there would be more church organizations that would bring this in to play, or at least not ignore it.
Ok, well there is my very short rant for the day. Be blessed!
