Do you know how to drive a car? If you do, then you can lose weight.
Sounds odd enough I know. But it really is that simple.
What do you do when you drive? Assuming you’ve already gotten in and started it that is…
- You check your vehicle
- Know where you’re going and know you’re route
- Steer it in the right direction
- Read road signs that give you information
If you can do all of this in a car, why cant you do the same things in your body? You actually live in your skin dont you?
Check your vehicle- Know your body, get your measurements, track your weight, track your body fat percentage, check your bmi
Know where you are going and your route- What are your goals? Lose weight? Gain muscle? Get healthier? How are you going to get there? What work outs are you going to do? Cardio? Resistance? Both? How often? Where at? Whats your schedule going to be? Know the details, have them memorized or written down.
Steer in the right direction- If your work outs are scheduled for a certain time, lets say 6pm, then you need to make sure you’re going to make it there on time right? You need to commit to your time. You need to make that a self date. Are you worth showing up for?
Read the road signs- Your body gives you signs all the time. Probably the worst of all of them would be… dare I? Diarrhea. I just chose something easy so there could be no arguments about it. Your body lets you know when you have to pee, when you’re tired, all kinds of things. All you have to do is learn to read the ones you havent learned yet.
Learn the first stages of hunger. Where the very beginning is. Then do something about it. Drink a glass of water, eat something, but make sure its something your body needs. Make sure its got protein, and dont go overboard. Stop eating, and wait 15 minutes. Is your stomach telling you that you dont need to eat anymore?
Does your body need sleep to recover? If you’re not getting sleep you’re going to be weak, and fall back on your decision.
Stay full, keep your body from overeating.
Make sure you read and obey the signs!
