What to eat

what to eat for p90x

A bit more of What to eat, what to scarf on, what to munch on, good food to lose weight and feel great. Also, it will just plain make you a better person. :)

Ok, I’m a bit excited. I’ve found lots of new foods this week that are completely new to me, that are completely nutritionally friendly, and affordable.

First up

Cascadian dark chocolate almond granola!  Can you freaking say yummy I could eat this 5 times a day and not be tired of it and still be eating healthy? 2 words… Cocoa Pebbles… that’s what it tastes like, no joke. A lil of this and some almond milk and booyah! the morning is off and running.

Another Cascadian farms… Pomegranate raspberry clusters.  It’s awesome. Has a sweet taste, and is just great. It does go soggy quickly!  But it doesnt last long enough in the milk to go that way :)

I was wanting something different this week, and this is what I tried!  Garlic Pita, Chipotle Blackbean Gardenburger, and Basil Pesto Sauce.. man, it hit the spot!  You just never have a clue how good good food can be.

And lastly…

Two pictures for this bad boy. Its an Amy organic meal. I thought I’d try it.  It is great! Rice, Blackbean chili, and cornbread, all organic. And just incredibly good.  I was very impressed. Next week I’ll be going back for it!

Thats the update for now. Be blessed.

What is the same as Shakeology?

Shakeology

It’s so difficult to express this in words, but I will certainly try.  There is nothing like Shakeology.  It is, in itself, a new category of meal replacement shakes, even though I dont think it can be considered a meal replacement shake.  Maybe that, plus a vitamin shake, plus your daily dose of prebiotics, plus enzymes, plus 2 types of protein, plus plus plus.

I have done all sorts of different supplements from GNC and Vitamin World.  Nothing comes close.  You cant even find anything that is like the Results and Recovery drink out there.

Lets face it, Beachbody has been in the game a long time, this is what they do, and they are good at it.  They make some of the best products on the market, and, being that they do, people often look for other things that are knock offs.

Check out Shakeology in depth here

Next, google some combination of the ingredients.

What did you find?  Anything?

Now hang with me for a couple more minutes because the best is yet to come.

Shakeology tastes good.  That’s cool.  But you know, for what it is, who even cares if it tastes good.  As long as it is drinkable?  But no, it’s actually good and there are hundreds of recipes.  But again, you could get a Mcdonalds Chocolate shake to taste good.

From the first time you drink Shakeology… you will feel INCREDIBLE.  It can not be described.  You will feel energized, but not edgy, you will feel focused, you will feel ready, you will feel healthy.

If you’re here, lets face it, you’re probably mulling it over.  Sign up at the right for the newsletter and info on getting a free sample.

Nutrition, Let Us Talk: Talk About Lettuce

So, It’s come down to where I need to step up to the plate.  Just like when I called off Cola.  I am switching lettuce.  I’ve been an iceberg fan for ages, to me, I always thought that romaine was just gritty and didnt taste nearly as good as iceberg.  But its time for me to face facts.  Romaine is a lot better nutritionally, and if I’m going to step it up, it’s time to step it up.

Here are the stats

One cup of iceberg lettuce:

  • 8 calories
  • 0.5 gram protein
  • 0.7 gram fiber
  • 10 mg calcium
  • 78 mg potassium
  • 1.5 mg vitamin C
  • 16 mcg folate
  • 13.3 mcg of vitamin K
  • 164 mcg beta carotene
  • 152 mcg of lutein + zeaxanthin

One cup of romaine lettuce has:

  • 8 calories
  • 0.58 gram protein
  • 1 gram fiber
  • 16 mg calcium
  • 116 mg potassium
  • 11.3 mg vitamin C
  • 64 mcg folate
  • 48.2 mcg vitamin K
  • 1637 mcg beta carotene
  • 1087 mcg of lutein + zeaxanthin

It’s more than obvious that I need to go ahead and make the switch, but how?  I’m not even worried about it.  It’s as easy as switching from regular to diet (ok, just dont drink either of them alright?  but you get the point).  Its going to be different at first, but its all about the change.  If I want to change things, I have to commit to doing it, and if that means getting used to something that is going to be better for me, well, then thats what it means.

What about you?  Where are you and where is your commitment level?  What is your goal?  Are you really stepping up and doing the things you need to do to achieve your goal?  Do you even know what your goals are?
