What exercise has meant to me
My life has changed greatly in the last 8 months and exercise has been a huge part of it. When I started out I was a 32 year old 2 pack a day smoker, weighing 20 pounds and eating horribly. A change came to me when I started cleaning up my diet a little bit. I watched a movie called “The Beautiful Truth” which I highly recommend. It talks about how important the food we eat and what we do with our bodies is.
After thinking that one over for a while I started to think about how incredibly out of shape I was. Honestly ego went in to a lot of it. I was tired of looking at pictures of myself all bloated out, and I ordered P90X. P90x was the hardest thing I’d ever attempted to do in my life, but I made the commitment to myself to do it. As I did it i noticed so much change, in my body, and myself as a whole. I went from a cant do mindset to a can do. There was just such a dramatic change.
Now that I’ve had an exercise routine down for a while, I enjoy it more than I could have ever thought so.
The correlation between what we eat, what we do with our bodies, and what we do with our times is tremendous. Now I eat well, I exercise, and I know that I am responsible for my mindset. I think positively on things, I no longer even believe in bad days. This coming from someone who used to have bad days 3 times a week, if not more. The way I look at it now, every day is a good day, it might bring about challenges and difficulties, but those are just opportunities to learn and grow more.
It might sound like a bunch of silliness, but if you could have known the two different people (me before, and me after) the change is just dramatic.
I am so excited about the future, and enjoying the present so much! I saw a post from Chalene on Facebook that said something like “You cant motivate people to exercise, only be there and be ready”. I wish there was a way. I certainly attempt to with the emails I send out, and being a Beachbody coach and all. But overall I know she’s right. There is a pinnacle point that some people come to, and some do not, whether to take care of their bodies or not.
I can say this for sure though. Positive changes create positive things. If you want to make 2 of the most important positive changes in your life, commit to eating right and exercising.
