TipJar 201x300 Without This Tip, Your Fitness Routine Could Fail

To some of you, what I’m about to say will seem very simple and elementary, to others this will seem everything but believable.

You must know you can do it

If you dont know you can do it, you could find yourself quitting and giving in, thinking it’s impossible.

I am no new age person. I dont wear crystals and rub them for luck.  But there is something very true about the power of positive thinking. Quite honestly most of my life I lived in a little shell where I told myself I couldnt do this or I couldnt do that.  I wasnt good enough to do this, or wasnt good enough to do that… and it was all true. Why was it true? Because I believed it.

I believed I wasnt good enough to do something, so even if I tried, that hung over my head and I would give up before I even gave myself half of a chance. It was a self fulfilling prophesy.

Then one day I decided I was going to do P90X (dont laugh, life lessons come from all over the place). I made a vow that I was going to complete the program. I told myself that I could do it and that I would do it. I erased any thought otherwise, and I did it. I didnt give myself a choice in the matter.

Some where along about week 8 I had an epiphany. Almost like in 1 of those windows 7 commercials. If I could apply that to P90X, I could apply it to anything else in my life. If I wanted to learn spanish, I could. If I wanted to get better at playing the guitar, I could. The fact that I can do anything I want to do.

Now this thought certainly doesnt mean that any of the things I decide I want to do will be easy. Actually some times even more the opposite. All that it means is that it is possible. If I am determined enough to do sick with it and find the way. I might have to find 99 ways to not succeed before I find the 1 way to succeed, but I know that if I keep looking I will find it.

If you dont know that you can lose that 40 pounds you want to lose, you’re going to quit. I’m going to tell you that right now. If you dont have confidence in your ability you will not succeed. Maybe that is why losing weight for people is so difficult, because their confidence is already rocked, so they give in.

If you want something, you better pack a bag filled with determination, will power, strength, and spirit, because if you dont carry those with you, you’re not going to go very far.
